Marietta, GA: West Cobb Extreme 12U – Taliaferro played in the PFG Bringing the Heat tournament on Saturday, April 14th. The team went 3-2 for the weekend. The girls learned some valuable lessons about never giving up. They came back from being down 4-0 in their first game to a 5-4 WIN. And because once was not enough, they did it again in their second game coming back from being down 5-0 to a 6-5 WIN. On top of learning to fight through and never give up, they tried to give their parents (and coaches) heart attacks.
These tough games are the building blocks of character. They are needed to learn and grow as players and as a team. Each exciting win and tough loss is part of the process. Rome and great teams were not built in a day (or season). It is a process and we must trust the process. There are great things to come from this group of girls and we are excited for the future. Looking forward to the next tournament on April 21.
The MVP this weekend is Taylor Daniel. She pitched 8 innings and racked up 14 strikeouts, winning both games she started. She also had a game winning triple against the Georgia Fire. Way to go, Taylor!
