Dallas, Georgia – December 6, 2018: West Cobb Extreme 14U players and families served their local community by volunteering to benefit Hope for Christmas. West Ridge Church, located in Dallas, holds Hope for Christmas every year during the holiday season. 2018 marks the 11th year of the event, which provides toys, gifts, and hope for families in need. The event reaches far beyond the city of Dallas, well in to the Atlanta metro area. This year, an expected 2,500 families will attend the event on Saturday, December 8.
West Cobb Extreme 14U players helped the church prepare and transport gifts for children attending Hope for Christmas. Players and their families gathered at Russom Elementary, a staging location for the event. At the school, players gathered toys for boys and girls for ages ranging from infants to 18 years old. Later in the evening, players loaded trucks with bags of toys and gifts for transport to the church, where the event is held. Families followed the trucks to the church, then unloaded and arranged the packages. Once all the packages were in place at the church, they did it again! Back to the school to load, and back to the church to unload!
The team’s players and families were proud to have the opportunity to serve those in need during the holiday season. Everyone worked hard, and always with enthusiasm, knowing they were helping to give many children a bright smile on Christmas day. West Cobb Extreme 14U is grateful to West Ridge Church for providing this special event, and will return again next year to serve again.
