West Cobb Extreme 14U Serves Local Community

Dallas, Georgia – December 6, 2018: West Cobb Extreme 14U players and families served their local community by volunteering to benefit Hope for Christmas. West Ridge Church, located in Dallas, holds Hope for Christmas every year during the holiday season. 2018 marks the 11th year of the event, which provides toys, gifts, and hope for families in need. The event reaches far beyond the city of Dallas, well in to the Atlanta metro area. This year, an expected 2,500 families will attend the event on Saturday, December 8.

West Cobb Extreme 14U players helped the church prepare and transport gifts for children attending Hope for Christmas. Players and their families gathered at Russom Elementary, a staging location for the event. At the school, players gathered toys for boys and girls for ages ranging from infants to 18 years old. Later in the evening, players loaded trucks with bags of toys and gifts for transport to the church, where the event is held. Families followed the trucks to the church, then unloaded and arranged the packages. Once all the packages were in place at the church, they did it again! Back to the school to load, and back to the church to unload!

Hope for Christmast - West Cobb Extreme 14U

The team’s players and families were proud to have the opportunity to serve those in need during the holiday season. Everyone worked hard, and always with enthusiasm, knowing they were helping to give many children a bright smile on Christmas day. West Cobb Extreme 14U is grateful to West Ridge Church for providing this special event, and will return again next year to serve again.

West Cobb eXtreme 12U Taliaferro visits Georgia Tech

Thank you to Coach Morales and the Georgia Tech Softball program for hosting the West Cobb eXtreme 12U Taliaferro team on Sunday March 4th. It was an awesome day for the girls and a GT win made it even better!

Sunday afternoon was an absolutely beautiful day for softball. eXtreme 12U players enjoyed a tour of the Georgia Tech clubhouse and the locker room. They were on the Mewborn field for the line-up announcement and stood in their positions during the National Anthem.

Georgia Tech made the experience more exciting with in-stadium fun and games! Aundraya was first up with “Name That Tune” game. How could you not know Treat you Better by Shawn Mendes? We’ll have to make it Aundraya’s walk-up song – Better luck next time! Next up was Aubrey and Abby in a head to head Powerade chugging duel. It was no contest when Abby won hands down. She didn’t take a breath or spill a drop. Way to go Abby! Then, Kyla was put in the press box and announced the GA Tech players in the bottom of the 5th inning. It was a big inning for GA Tech and Kyla got more than she bargained for, but she handled it with skill. Great Job Kyla!

It was a great day with a great group of girls. Lots of T-shirt bombs, foul ball prizes, singing, dancing, free gifts and team bonding. We are looking forward to great season full of fun and exciting times, both on and off the field!
