West Cobb Extreme 12U 07 Softball Team Spreads Holiday Cheer at Sterling Estates

Marietta, Georgia – December 15, 2019 – The West Cobb Extreme 12U 07 Softball Team spent a Sunday afternoon at the Sterling Estates of West Cobb Senior Living Community sharing some holiday spirit with the residents. This is the 2nd year the team has visited the facility. The team brought gifts and handmade holiday cards and much HOLIDAY CHEER to over 20 residents of the facility.

Both the residents and the team engaged in conversations about best Christmas memories, most delicious holiday meals, and (of course) softball! Everyone enjoyed cookies and hot Chocolate and the event culminated with the Extreme 12U 07 team singing Christmas carols to the group! Everyone had a fun and festive time and not only were the residents pleased with the event (they requested an encore visit and updates on the team’s season!), but staff members of the facility said that the resident were so looking forward to the event and that the staff’s heart was so filled with joy listening to all the group singing and laughing . . . both young and old.

We will have a few more fans in the stands at Lost Mountain Park this coming season!

She just saw smile after smile after smile, both young and old.

West Cobb Extreme 14U Serves Local Community

Dallas, Georgia – December 6, 2018: West Cobb Extreme 14U players and families served their local community by volunteering to benefit Hope for Christmas. West Ridge Church, located in Dallas, holds Hope for Christmas every year during the holiday season. 2018 marks the 11th year of the event, which provides toys, gifts, and hope for families in need. The event reaches far beyond the city of Dallas, well in to the Atlanta metro area. This year, an expected 2,500 families will attend the event on Saturday, December 8.

West Cobb Extreme 14U players helped the church prepare and transport gifts for children attending Hope for Christmas. Players and their families gathered at Russom Elementary, a staging location for the event. At the school, players gathered toys for boys and girls for ages ranging from infants to 18 years old. Later in the evening, players loaded trucks with bags of toys and gifts for transport to the church, where the event is held. Families followed the trucks to the church, then unloaded and arranged the packages. Once all the packages were in place at the church, they did it again! Back to the school to load, and back to the church to unload!

Everyone worked hard, and always with enthusiasm, knowing they were helping to give many children a bright smile on Christmas day. West Cobb Extreme 14U is grateful to West Ridge Church for providing this special event, and will return again next year to serve again.
