West Cobb Extreme 08 Takes Championship Win in the GSA Fall World Series

November 6, 2021 – South Cherokee Park, Woodstock Park

West Cobb Extreme 08 takes home a 7-4 championship victory over the Rhyne Park Renegades 14U at South Cherokee Park in Woodstock, Georgia.

During the GSA Fall World Series, Extreme captured the lead in the first inning. Emily T. singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Coach Hawkins and his 14U team took the lead for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second, Lyla S. grounded out, scoring one run and Emma H. singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Abby B. got the win for West Cobb Extreme 08. The righty lasted four innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out two.

Magda P. went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead West Cobb Extreme in hits. The team tore up the base paths, as three Extreme players stole at least two bases. Cailen T. led the way with three.

West Cobb Extreme 07 Team Takes 1st Place in TITAN November Knockaround Tournament

November 6, 2021 – Al Bishop Park – Marietta, GA

It was a great way to start the 2021-2022 Season for the West Cobb Extreme 07 team as they took 1st Place in the TITAN November Knockaround Tournament – held in Marietta, GA at Al Bishop Park on 11/6/2021. The team had limited practice time before the tournament but pulled together to go undefeated (3-0) through the pool game and finished as the #1 seed for the 14U bracket (there were a total of 12 – 14U teams in the tournament).

After an exciting bracket win, we entered the championship game playing against Arsenal (from Lithonia, GA) – Both competing for the championship! It was a chilly game as temperatures began to drop when the sun went down, but both teams were motivated and ready to play. It was a competitive game with excellent pitching, solid hitting, aggressive baserunning, exceptional fielding, and a lot of “grit” and focus. The game ended after 4 innings with the West Cobb Extreme 07 coming out on top at a scope of 4-1. An excellent way to start the 2021-2022 Season!

West Cobb Extreme 07 Teams Takes 1st Place in NSA State Championship

June 26, 2021 – Rome, GA, Alto Park Softball Complex

It was a great way to end the 2020-2021 Season for the West Cobb Extreme 14U 07 team as they took 1st Place at the NSA Georgia State Championship at the Alto Park Softball Complex in Rome, GA on June 26, 2021. The team played very competitive teams in the pool games and entered the bracket games as the #2 seed.

After a some exciting bracket wins, they entered the championship game playing against the GA Bombers! It was a late 10:20 pm start to the game, but both teams were motivated to play. It was a competitive game with excellent pitching, solid hitting, aggressive base running, exceptional fielding, and a lot of great spirit and cheering. Both teams played well and the game ended at 12:20 am after five innings, with West Cobb Extreme 07 coming out on top at 10 – 3. Excellent way to finish a fun, exciting, and memorable 2020-2021 Season.

Way to go West Cobb Extreme 07! All of the training and hard work this season paid off!

West Cobb Extreme Wins State Tournament

Rockmart, Georgia – May 29, 2021: West Cobb Extreme takes the GSA Georgia State Title

West Cobb Extreme 14U goes undefeated through five games in the GSA Georgia State tournament. The team battled hard, and only allowed 12 runs all day! West Cobb Extreme 14U recorded a whopping 38 runs on the five teams they faced. Facing Georgia Storm in the final championship bracket game, the Extreme players decidedly won with a 5-0 victory.

West Cobb Extreme 8U Takes First Place!

Ringgold, Georgia – October 24, 2020: The West Cobb Extreme 8U travel softball team, led by Head Coach Chapman, took the championship win at PSA’s New Balance Pink Out tournament! With a field of six 8U teams competing at Jack Mattox park in Ringgold, West Cobb Extreme showed up wearing special jerseys for the occasion. At the end of the day, Extreme 8U proved to be the team who took the big first place win. Way to go Extreme 8U!

 

West Cobb Extreme 04 Clinches Lead In 3rd Inning For Championship Victory Over NYO Patriots 04

Austell, GA – March 23, 2019: West Cobb Extreme 04 Takes the Championship

Arriving at 8:00 am on Saturday, March 23, 2019, West Cobb Extreme 04 players started warming up for what would end up to be a championship win. The first place trophy took the team’s players 16 and a half hours to win, with the championship game ending at 12:30 am Sunday, March 24!

While the first pool game didn’t go as planned for West Cobb Extreme 04, the rest of the day’s tournament games went in the right direction. After winning the next two pool games, the team started its first bracket game in the second seed.

Facing off against FCA Fusion, the players fought to win the single-elimination contest. The game turned in to an eight-inning battle, lasting two and a half hours under ITB rules. Players on both sides of home plate kept fighting in a great match through a cool evening in north west metro Atlanta. In the bottom of the 8th, Maddison T’s walk-off picture-perfect hit was the ending in Extreme 04’s victory over FCA Fusion.

Maddie C. got the win for Extreme 04. She went four and two-thirds innings against FCA Fusion, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out two and walking zero. Hailey M. started the game for Extreme 04. She surrendered five runs on eight hits over three and a third innings, striking out two and walking one.

The championship game was no less a fight, with Extreme 04 starting immediately after the 8-inning bout. Extreme 14U clinched the lead in the third inning for the victory over the previously undefeated NYO Patriots 04. Extreme 14U defeated NYO Patriots 04 12-10 on Saturday for the championship win.

Extreme 14U was down 5-4 in the top of the third inning when Maddie C. doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs. Hailey M. grabbed the win in the championship game for West Cobb Extreme 04 as she pitched four innings, allowing 11 hits and ten runs while striking out four and walking zero.

Extreme 04 launched two home runs through the day – Alexis M. had a dinger in the second inning against FCA Fusion. Emma M. launched one over the fence against the stunned NYO Patriots 04 in the championship game!

Way to go, Extreme 04! It was an exciting day, and well worth the fight. This was only the third tournament of the 2019 season for the West Cobb Extreme 04 squad. The next scheduled tournament for the team is on April 13, 2019. Visit www.westcobbextreme.com for more information.
