Each member of the Extreme fastpitch softball travel team is a highly skilled student athlete competing on local, state, regional, and national levels. The team provides a positive environment with a strong emphasis on team unity, individual skill improvement and sound fundamentals. The team’s coaches encourage each player to be good students, embrace good work habits, maintain a positive attitude and treat everyone with respect.
The MISSION of the Extreme ’04 Softball team is to create a progressive, family friendly, advanced level playing environment. An environment in which young women can continue to build their life skills, mental capabilities, and personal characters to prepare them for life after softball. All while the student-athlete practices sportsmanship, ethics, academics, and community service.
Winning is an important metric for any competitive organization, however success for the Extreme players has a broader definition. Arguably the most successful coach ever, Coach John Wooden, defined success as the following:
“Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to become the best of which you are capable.”
We believe our job as a youth sports organization is to teach our student-athletes that hard work, effort, desire, and discipline will prepare them for the challenges that lie ahead both on and off the field. What they’ll face now will prepare them to achieve competitive greatness in every aspect of their life.
Our success is defined by development of the student-athlete in all phases, not by the number of trophies we collect.
We believe that a scholarship should not be the sole reason a girl should play softball but should be a reward or by-product of hard work, commitment, discipline, service, integrity and loyalty.
The Extreme Softball team uses a more strategic and targeted approach to maximize our student-athlete’s development and exposure in an attempt for them to extend their playing career. This approach includes the following:
- College camps
- Private and team instruction by current and former college coaching staffs
- Individual instruction
- Showcase tournaments
- Video and social media programs
- Academic excellence
- Community service
- Social Events
College coaches are looking for complete student-athletes, not just athletes. INTANGIBLES MATTER. It is our objective to build student-athletes that stand out on and off the field.
Opportunities While every softball player is different, Extreme offers every player on its roster the opportunity to play beyond travel ball. Playing for a college team while getting a quality education is the goal of our team’s players, and we know how to support them in their quest. Our coaching staff and management understands that it is not about the team name our players wear.
Player Development Our coaches represent over 22 years of softball experience. The team’s coaches are well versed in every aspect of the game, and have proven track records. The coaching staff’s agendas often includes skill-specific clinics and training by college level coaches and and former college players. Every staff coach passes an annual background check, and are ACE and SafeSport certified.
